To Rattlesnake trail: Walk .6 mile west on Main Trail, turn left at the dirt lot and cross Zoo Dr to the trailhead. Google directions
To Oak Canyon: Walk 1 mile west on Main Trail, turn left into the gate at the corner of Zoo Dr/Forest Lawn, walk .15 mi east across the field and pass through the tunnel under Zoo Dr to the trailhead. Google directions

Water is in the picnic area at Rattlesnake trailhead; at the east end of the horse arena near Oak Canyon trailhead and at Travel Town. Toilets are on Zoo Drive .2 mi west of the bus stop; at the Oak Canyon horse arena and at Travel Town.

Take transit to Griffith Observatory. There are four trailheads here. A park map is under the pines at the north end of the parking lot.

The free DASH shuttle from Sunset/Vermont operates from 10am to 10pm. Water and toilet are at the parking lot and in the observatory. A cafe is on the observatory lower level. Phone service may be very weak or nonexistent, so download info and maps in advance.
